    CodeMash, new hearing aid

    by  • November 20, 2007 • Personal, Technology

I’m planning to be at CodeMash in Sandusky, Ohio on January 10-11, 2008. Anyone else planning on going? My employer is kindly sending me to this conference so (as a .NET developer) I’ll be hitting quite a lot of the .NET sessions so my coworkers can pick my brain afterward. It looks like there’s a [...]

OneNote 2007 is my new god.

    by  • November 10, 2007 • Personal, Technology

No, not really, but it turns out to have one really nice feature that I wasn’t aware of. If you import an image into OneNote, it will automatically OCR any text within it and make it searchable. It will even highlight the portion of the image where the search text appears. As it turns out, [...]

Quick test from TextMate on Leopard

    by  • October 31, 2007 • Personal

This is just a quick check to see if TextMate’s blogging bundle can still post to my blog correctly in Leopard. Category retrieval appears to be messed up with 1.5.7′s default blog bundle, but Fetch Post works so I want to see if Posting does too… If you can read this, it does. ;)

Putting the big cat through its paces

    by  • October 27, 2007 • Technology

As I mentioned in a recent entry, OS X 10.5 went on sale last night. I ran up to the Apple Store after work to get a copy (and my free t-shirt, naturally :)) and got it installed last night. So far, I’m pretty happy with it. What’s good: Everything seems a little snappier. Firefox, [...]

    Random things, WordPress

    by  • October 18, 2007 • Personal, Technology

Another fun entry in which I ruminate on various random crap! Also, I just installed the WordPress 2.3 upgrade and want to make sure posting works properly. Apple has announced that Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) will be available for purchase on October 26th. I’ve been using my MacBook more lately, so I plan to [...]

    More on Life

    by  • September 11, 2007 • Personal

Just checking in, mostly… not a lot of new stuff happening in my life right now.  I’ve started another dance class in my continuing quest to learn how to burn down a dance floor, so that’s been fun.  I also got a very nice boost to my confidence on the floor the other week when [...]

    Hmmm.

    by  • August 11, 2007 • Personal, WTF

There’s a bunch of squirrels running around in the backyard. I really should get a bird feeder and one of these for the hours of entertainment it would provide.

    Over-connectedness, general updates, and stuff

    by  • July 28, 2007 • Personal

I haven’t posted an update in a while… life is keeping me busy.  It’s been good.  More on that in a bit. I came across this in Google Reader yesterday and thought it was fairly interesting.  A little while later I came across this article over on Ars Technica.  Both of these hit pretty close to home [...]

    MacBook: Three Weeks of Impressions

    by  • April 5, 2007 • Personal, Technology

And now to follow up on my slightly vitriolic post from the other week. The short version of it is that bogo_lode was pretty much right on. More time has helped quite a lot and I’m liking the system a lot better than I did previously. It helps that I finally got set up with [...]

    WTF?

    by  • April 4, 2007 • Personal

It was just shy of 80 here in Akron yesterday. Today we get this: I don’t think I like this at all. I actually do rather like winter, but after several months I’m just tired of it.   Bleh.
