Google Calendar just got a lot more useful for me.

Google Calendar looked rather useful when I first saw it. I especially liked that you could have it send you event notifications via SMS —I’m terribly absent-minded sometimes, so that’s a useful feature for me. Unfortunately, for some reason they didn’t support sending SMS notifications via Verizon, and of course, I use Verizon.

Out of curiosity today, I decided to take another look and see if things had improved any. As it turns out, Google Calendar now supports Verizon—I’ve already got it set up and will have to be sure to set up an event to test the notifications.

I thought I’d mention this here since I remember reading some complaints about it not supporting Verizon, but I haven’t seen any mention at all that it’s supported now. At least the folks who read Planet Ars Lounge will be aware of it now.
