I’ve been amusing myself adding photos into my photo gallery of late. It’s kind of sad really; all I’ve done is add old photos into it. I haven’t really made time lately to go out and do some photography. Of course, it’s also late winter here, which means everything is brown, muddy, and boring.
In a few weeks I’m hoping to head down to Cincinnati again to visit Steve, and this time I will be remembering to take my camera along.
Last time I was down there we went to Devou Park in Covington. It had a pretty sweet view overlooking downtown Cincy. I held my hands to my face and went “click,” but it’s just not as satisfying.
Speaking of not-getting-photos, I went to my sister’s show choir competition in Wapakoneta this afternoon. I haven’t found out yet how they placed, though. I didn’t even bother taking my camera along since I knew they were not too keen on people taking their own photos; apparently they want you to pay entirely too much money for lousy prints from their hired photographer. Oh well.
In other news, Ubuntu’s preview of their “Hoary Hedgehog” release is now out. I downloaded the ISO last night… now I just need to get around to installing it on the Lifebook. Warty ran pretty well on it, so I’m hoping this will be even better. I’m also looking forward to trying out netapplet or NetworkManager; from what I’ve seen they will (once finished) bring end-user networking configuration in Linux up to the standards of MacOS X in terms of simplicity and ease of use. This also means it will be miles ahead of Windows XP —XP SP2 has improved things quite a bit, but it still has too many oddities and quirks for my taste.
