  • I don't know if I like this app-centric approach Apple is pushing. I think in terms of file hierarchies and data, not apps. #
  • Where's the multitasking? #ipad #
  • Seriously underwhelmed by the #ipad so far. No flash, no multitasking? Super fail. #
  • Ok, the #ipad e-reader stuff looks ok, but not compelling at the likely price tag. #
  • @pdxwy If Amazon releases Kindle for Android, I'd seriously consider a Nexus One as soon as it hits Verizon in reply to pdxwy #
  • Surprised they went to $499 on the #ipad. Still not particularly interested, $499 gets you a Lenovo S10-3T that runs a full OS. #
  • The price of the #ipad is surprisingly low, but I'm not interested in paying $500+ for an oversized iPhone. #
  • @theWynk That's because it *is* a giant iPod Touch ;) in reply to theWynk #
  • iPad is a fusion of tech and liberal arts? True - it's an expensive gadget that has no job. #
  • @XaiaX Sadly, I can't claim credit for that, friend of mine came across it somewhere and repeated it to me... amusing though :) in reply to XaiaX #
  • @quezed Switching from the iPhone? What are you getting? in reply to quezed #
  • @quezed Nice, the Nexus One looks like a nice phone and I may be looking at it when it hits VZW... T-mo coverage in my area sucks in reply to quezed #
  • @quezed No, I have an iPhone 3G - tried the Droid but had some bad experiences, turned out to be bad hardware but had already returned it in reply to quezed #
  • RT @damonism: Does anyone other than Apple have a press-only event where the audience is constantly cheering? #
  • RT @shanselman: LOL - "...the 'iPad' could have been a game changer, not an iPod Touch for the elderly." /via @darrendoyle #
  • @pdxwy in reply to pdxwy #
  • @pdxwy @markhughes3000 I agree with pretty much all the negative points in that editorial. (also, I hate this keyboard) #
  • @pdxwy If you think about it, the e-book reader is fairly diabolical. Can you get your purchased books off it? Guessing no... in reply to pdxwy #
  • @pdxwy ... which means that once you start building an e-book library, you'd better plan on owning an Apple device forever, I think. in reply to pdxwy #
  • @bogo_lode Dunno about Sony store. Kindle is multi-platform at least, though I don't buy many e-books for precisely this reason. in reply to bogo_lode #
  • @bogo_lode I didn't say they're evil per se, but it's clever lock-in considering Kindle gives you a bit more flexibility on devices. in reply to bogo_lode #
  • @bogo_lode Though I can see how you might imply that from "diabolical" :) in reply to bogo_lode #
  • @bogo_lode True, tho I wonder if we'll see an Android app. At any rate, not a huge issue for me but something to think about w/ any platform in reply to bogo_lode #
  • @AirborneGeek Heh, and I heard things got interesting in EVE this week... in reply to AirborneGeek #
  • @pdxwy Yeah, most of my e-books are actually from Baen :) in reply to pdxwy #
  • RT @antiheroine: Win: http://unhappyhipsters.tumblr.com/ #
  • Today is the 24th anniversary of the #Challenger disaster. I was in 2nd grade, remember teacher telling us, then seeing it on TV later. #
  • @clint I agree with you. Plus, no multitasking means the iPad completely fails for my typical usage as I require certain background tasks. in reply to clint #

  • @pdxwy When I become evil overlord I'm going to have teams that go around bashing in the side panels on vehicles that park across spaces. in reply to pdxwy #
  • When I become evil overlord, I'm having the freecreditreport.com band put to death. Just because. #
  • @jwright Ah, the joys of Twitter, being able to share our traffic stops in real time... (sucks about the ticket, though) in reply to jwright #
  • @jwright I have to be careful of that since my new Fit is red... although I've heard yellow and orange are the real attention-getters now in reply to jwright #

  • Excellent. Chrome for Mac finally added a bookmark manager. Just deleted a couple of useless folders that had gotten imported from Webkit. #
