This evening, I broke down and moved my site off Hexo and back over to WordPress.
Hexo is a great piece of software and gives you tons of control, but as you might have guessed from the blistering pace of updates here, I have somewhat limited free time for blogging. I decided I’d much rather spend that time working on personal projects, or writing about personal projects, not yak-shaving my Hexo configuration. Running WordPress also means it can handle the automatic HTTPS redirects (thanks, Dreamhost and Let’s Encrypt!) better, and gives me the ability to post or edit posts from a mobile device if need be. It’s not something I see myself doing much, but it’s nice to have the ability.
I also still need to get syntax highlighting working right again. Shouldn’t be awful.
